Personal Development Plan

If I were to ask my employer for training development courses or modules I would first, make an auto evaluation to learn which are my weakness or what are those skills I wish to get better.

First, I would ask my employer for formal education programs  this programs can be delivered or offered by consultants or universities. They include off-site and on-site programs designed specifically for the company’s employees.

Second, I would also ask my employer for assessments this ones involves collecting information and providing feedback to employees about their behavior, communication style or skills.

Assessments would help me understand which skills I need to improve in order to keep growing professionally in my workplace.

Third, performance appraisal, when employees ask new hires to perform different tasks, employees need to understand where they stand. This means the employer need to measure that performance by giving them some type of test or assessment to collect data about the performed task.

And finally, I would ask my employer for team training, this means that my coworkers as well can learn from their peers and could also get a clearer view of what’s going on inside the job. Team training sometime is more effective because having another point of view can help understand black-holes we could have on the road. Noe (2010)
